CONGRATULATIONS TO ARCHBISHOP RAYMOND BURKE

soon to be elevated to the

COLLEGE OF CARDINALS

Archbishop Burke has been a long time friend and supporter of the Confraternity of Catholic Clergy. When we had our annual convocation in Saint Louis, his last year before being transferred to Rome, the CCC was called the "Burke's Brigade" by a national Catholic newspaper. When the CCC and ACCC met in Rome this past January for the Year for Priests, His Grace celebrated Latin Mass (Ordinary Form) at Saint Peter's Basilica for us AND he gave us a private tour of the Apostolic Signatura. His pro-life credentials and orthodoxy are impeccable and if there were ever a front-runner and exceptional candidate for the first American Pope, it would be Cardinal Elect Burke. Of course, we hope and pray that Pope Benedict XVI still has a long reign before that takes place.

Yours truly is in picture 3, (far left, how ironic) being one of the principal concelebrants with Archbishop Burke at San Pietro's.
Father Bob Levis is in picture 5 with His Grace while in Saint Louis.
Father Ken Brighenti (far right) and Father Mark Withoos with Archbishop Burke in photo 6 at the Signatura.

Perhaps your local news sources failed to report the fact that there were two Americans apppointed to the College of Cardinals of "the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church."
It is, I suppose, your prerogative to ignore what you choose to ignore (or extol), but it is a grievous offense to the Church.
Would I be correct in assuming that you have already contacted the Holy Father to inform him that you neither approve nor recognize his designation of the Archbishop of Washington? Your arrogance grows in leaps and bounds! Talk about "Cafeteria Catholics!"

The Pope has FULL, SUPREME, IMMEDIATE and UNIVERSAL authority (Code of Canon Law and Catechism of Catholic Church). He alone appoints whomever he wishes to the rank of Cardinal. The only arrogance is that of showing disrespect for the office of Roman Pontiff. The Holy Father neither needs my approval or recognition of his candidates for the College of Cardinals or the College of Bishops. Plenitudo Potestates. If you have problem with papal authority (doctrinally and/or jurisdictionally) then you have a problem being Catholic.

Fr. Trigilio: Thanks for being a good, holy, faithful priest who reflects the light of God's Truth. You are the antithesis of arrogant.

As for Picture 3, it's all a matter of one's perspective. From His Eminence Cardinal Burke's perspective, you are to the far right!

Way to go Padre!

Oh to have a whole College of Cardinals like Cardinal Burke!
